You must allow the meat to cool before preparing it for freezing. As previously stated, the optimum freezer life comes from removing as much air as possible from the meat. I propose purchasing some plastic wrap and wrapping the meat firmly to do this.

This procedure will help keep the air away from the real meat. Place the pulled pork in the freezer bag after it has been wrapped. Try to get as much air out of the freezer bag as possible before closing it.

Simply place it in the freezer. This procedure should keep the meat fresh for up to three months before freezer burn sets in. If you use a vacuum sealer, you may increase the time and keep the pulled pork for up to 6 months.

Reheating Pulled Pork in the Oven

While you can reheat frozen pulled pork in the microwave, it isn’t the greatest way since it will be harder to maintain moist. I like to keep the pulled pork warm in the oven. Follow these easy procedures to reheat the pork in the oven:

  • Preheat the oven to 225-250 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • In a skillet, combine all of the leftover pork that you want to reheat (I prefer a tin foil pan).
  • Juices should have been returned with the meat by now, but if they weren’t, add them to the meat in the pan.
  • You may add your barbeque sauce now if you want to stir everything together.
  • Cover the meat in the pan with a cover or tin foil.
  • Place the pan in the oven and cook the pulled pork until it reaches a temperature of around 165 degrees, which takes about 25-35 minutes depending on the amount.
  • Remove the pulled pork from the oven and give it one more stir before serving.

On the Big Green Egg, How to Reheat Pulled Pork

This procedure is comparable to using the oven. Simply follow these instructions to reheat pulled pork on the Big Green Egg:

  • Preheat the Big Green Egg at 225-250 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Place the plate setting in the oven to warm it indirectly.
  • In a tin foil pan, place all of the leftover pork you want to reheat.
  • The fluids should have been returned to the meat by now, but if they weren’t, add them to the meat in the pan.
  • It’s not required, but you may add the barbecue sauce now, as you’re mixing everything together.
  • Place the pan on the grilling grate and cook until it reaches 165 degrees on the inside. Similar to the oven, this normally takes 25-35 minutes to heat up, depending on the amount.
  • Pull the pulled pork off the Big Green Egg when the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees and serve (Mix one more time if you have already added your barbecue sauce).

How to Reheat Crock Pot Pulled Pork

A crock cooker may be used to reheat pulled pork in a similar fashion.

  • Place the pulled pork in the slow cooker.
  • Juices should have been returned with the meat by now, but if they weren’t, add them to the meat in the pan.
  • Lightly stir in your favorite barbecue sauce.
  • Set it to warm if you have time, which will take approximately 2-3 hours depending on how much you’re reheating.
  • If you want to cook quicker, just set the crock pot to low and heat it for approximately an hour to reach 165 degrees (time is again dependent on quantity in the crock pot).

How can I reheat vacuum-sealed pulled pork?

Another option for reheating pulled pork is to boil it. The pulled pork must be frozen in a vacuum sealed bag for this approach to work.

If you don’t have the equipment to vacuum seal the pulled pork, just take it out of the freezer and place it in boiling water for approximately 20 minutes, or until the flesh reaches 165 degrees (if less put back in the water for longer).
